9D - Santa Cruz

We had driven from Fresno to Monterey along the coast!

We had not missed Santa Cruz. To get there, we got on a larger queue, a crowd, plenty of persons…!
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront amusement park in Santa Cruz. Founded in 1907, it is California's oldest surviving amusement park and one of the few seaside parks on the West Coast of the USA.

Santa Cruz has a beautiful beach sight, with a lot of restoration and sports activity. Americans really make use of their spaces and the beaches are not exception. Likewise, they have a monthly periodical, “Amusement Today”, which awarded the best amusement parks in USA.

Once again SC has sports facilities, attractions as Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of the best-known wooden coasters in the world and one of the most visible landmarks in Santa Cruz, or tents with several old-fashioned carnival games. The Dipper and the Looff Carousel, which still contains its original 342-pipe organ built in 1894, are both on the US National Register of Historic Places. I am just a kid; I just loved these plenty of attractions.

The beach was a destination for railroads and trolleys since 1875; a railway crossed the Beach Street making a constraint in traffic.
